WHEN
April 2025The redesign proposes a more intentional approach to packaging, rethinking materials and encouraging reuse while maintaining Glossier’s brand identity. Through product mockups and campaign visuals, the work explores how sustainability can be integrated into both the physical product and its marketing, balancing functionality, aesthetics, and environmental impact.
Original logo and After Baume product imagery belong to Glossier. Product mockups generated with AI and refined in Photoshop. Additional imagery sourced from Freepik and Adobe Stock.
I started by experimenting with variations of Glossier’s logo mark to introduce a sustainability-focused direction. The goal was to keep the logo recognizable while incorporating a plant-based motif. These initial sketches explored the idea of growth, with forms inspired by a sprouting plant.
I refined the mark into a final logo featuring two pointed leaves extending from the tail of the “G,” making the eco-friendly concept more prominent while still feeling aligned with Glossier’s identity. I paired this with TT Commons Pro in semibold to closely match the brand’s existing typography. This mark is used specifically for the sustainability initiative, titled “Re:form Beauty.”
Product Mockup
I redesigned After Baume’s packaging as a zero-waste system using refillable pods. Instead of a single jar, it’s broken into four pods meant for daily use, stored in a reusable case. The pods are made from molded paper pulp with a plant-based coating, so they’re water-resistant but still compostable and biodegradable. Each one is sealed with a pull tab and can be planted after use. By opening one pod at a time, the product stays fresh without relying on plastic, while also encouraging a more intentional way of using it.
